As a Mechanical Design Engineer II at Vast Space, I contribute to the rapid development of the E-2 liquid rocket engine (a high-performance, oxidizer-rich staged combustion engine fueled by LOX and kerosene). With a thrust of 22,000 lbf, E-2 is designed for exceptional efficiency in small satellite launches, emphasizing rapid reusability and reliability. My journey here started as a Mechanical Engineer I in March 2023, evolving into my current role by August 2024, where I’ve been deeply involved in pushing the boundaries of space propulsion technology.

As a Responsible Engineer (RE) I lead the design, analysis, and testing for critical components including the Main Fuel Valve (MFV), LOX Dome, main propellant ducting, and the overall integrated engine layout. This role demands a blend of innovative problem-solving and rigorous engineering principles to ensure the engine’s performance in real-world test campaigns.

This experience at Vast has honed my skills in high-stakes aerospace engineering, preparing me to tackle even more ambitious projects in space exploration. If you’re interested in discussing collaborations or opportunities, feel free to reach out!
